The "Universidad Nacional del Santa," established by Law No. 24035 of December 20, 1984, is a legal entity under public law. It is fundamentally governed by the Political Constitution of Peru, University Law No. 30220, the Statute, and its Regulations. The "Universidad Nacional del Santa" is an academic community focused on research, teaching, cultural outreach, and social outreach. It provides humanistic, scientific, and technological education with a clear understanding of our country as a multicultural reality. It embraces the concept of education as a fundamental right and an essential public service. It is comprised of faculty, students, and graduates. Since its creation, the "National University of Santa" has been conceived as a university for development, with a clear awareness of its commitment to well-being and social justice, its respect for science and culture, and the need to contribute to the progress of the country and the region. It recognizes the inalienable values ​​of freedom and human dignity, the foundations of the national culture that constitute the identity of the Peruvian people, and the harmonious integration of the social sectors that comprise it. The "National University of Santa" is headquartered in the district of Nuevo Chimbote, province of Santa, department of Ancash. To fulfill its purposes, it has academic and administrative units. The "National University of Santa" identifies itself for all official events as the NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF SANTA, whose acronym is UNS, and its logo is the figure of the Punkurí, within an oval band with the words NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF SANTA CHIMBOTE-PERU. December 20 of each year is declared “National University of Santa Day” in commemoration of the promulgation of Law No. 24035, the law creating the University.
